Time for Kumis

Kazarman, Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyz people can’t imagine life without kumis – fermented mare milk. On the way from Kazarman towards Jalal Abad our shared taxi stopped by the yurts that we could get a snack. Many families move to the yurts and stay with their animals over the summer.

Kyrgyzstan as authentic as it can be: kumis stored in the skin of a sheep and served in plastic cups among with fried bread and cream.
